Summary 67 photographic images from the family of Cyrus E. and Mary Jane Napper. Most of the images were taken in Logan and Logan Canyon, Utah, although a few appear to be from Salt Lake City. Included are photographs of downtown Logan, the Logan Temple, bridges, parades, and members of the Napper family. Although most of the people in the photographs are not identified, Cyrus E., Mary Jane, Harry Felix, Doud Byron, Eiffel May and George C. Napper are probably included in the collection. The pictures were most likely taken by Harry Felix and his father Cyrus E. Napper between 1895 and 1905. Includes the original glass plate and nitrate negatives.
Biography Cyrus (Cye) Edmund Napper, son of Charles and Susanna Napper, was born September 24, 1855 in Birmingham England. Cyrus came to Logan in 1873 and soon became involved in the drug store business as a clerk. Around 1900 he opened his own drug store which was a success. In January of 1876 he married Mary Jane Hale, an early handcart pioneer of Cache Valley, who was originally from New Jersey. Cyrus and Mary Jane Napper were the parents of 10 children who reached adulthood: Charles Edmond, Doud Byron, Harry Felix, Eiffel May, William Roy, Marsden Mark, George Cyrus, Ruby Irene, Sidney Alfred and Russel Hale Napper.
Harry Felix Napper was born February 24, 1882, son of Cyrus E. and Mary Jane Napper. He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad from 1906 to 1952 as a brakeman and conductor.
